Spirituality is important to me, in a very broad-minded sense though raised in an organized religion; don't really follow it or any. Can do without those that have it all figured out. I respect all religious beliefs and faiths and those that choose not to believe as well; it's a personal thing. You can tell the truly spiritual in how they interact and treat people on a day in day out basis. It's easy to talk the talk; it's quite another to walk the walk. I believe that here on earth God's work must truly be our own, and we are here to expand, grow and learn. Understand I AM NOT the bible thumper/choir boy type; enjoy a margarita or two, a good off color joke and use "colorful metaphors" when speaking at times. I believe the purpose of life is to: Learn and grow as an individual, take responsibility for your actions/your life and clean up your own mess. To expand ones self-awareness find your "blind spots" and do the best you can. For decades I sought life's deeper meaning and purpose of this existence. I am a seeking soul and always will be. Try to balance my philosophical bent with being grounded in the here and now and in my body. I've spent time coming to understand my values, my beliefs, and myself. I strive (not always successfully) for a positive approach to life. This positive approach doesn't preclude being realistiy skeptical. I let experiences resonate in me before forming an opinion, but then might engage in passionate, principled debate. I am open-minded, (but not so open the brain falls out of the head) yet challenge ideas. Being introspective and reflective means that I approach life with great sincerity. At this point we have all been around the block a few times. Though I have a professional job I still have a bit of a hippie mentality in me: It is healthy to question authority, ask "why", think for your self and not put up with other peoples unnecessary BS. Independent thinker type, don't follow crowds or agree with something just because it's the status quo. I am a bad consumer of mass quantities of things that you really don't need. Don't buy into the whole commercialism, buy, buy, buy mentality. I can pay cash for a new car, but what's the point? The xxx I have gets me to where I need to go.
